Highfield chosen to develop new T Level qualification

We’ve something very special to announce to all of our customers.

We’ve been chosen by the Institute for Apprenticeship and Technical Education (the Institute) to develop and award the T Level Technical Qualification in Catering!

For those unfamiliar with T Levels, they are new qualifications that follow GCSEs and are equivalent to three A levels. These qualifications are achieved through the successful completion of 2-year courses, that are developed in collaboration with employers and businesses so that the content meets the needs of industry and prepares students for work, further training or study.

Speaking on this huge milestone, our Chief Executive Jason Sprenger had the following to say:

‘It has been well noted that this qualification represents one of the most significant developments in hospitality education within the last decade. Highfield was originally founded to support learners to achieve their educational aspirations in this sector; almost 40 years ago. We really can’t overstate what this accomplishment means to us or how seriously we take this responsibility.’

We’re extremely excited to now be starting work on developing this new catering technical qualification, which will be completed by August 2022, and will be subsequently delivered by colleges across the UK starting from September 2023.

If you’re an employer and would like to get involved in the development of this qualification, which will shape the future of Further Education in the catering sector – simply drop us a line at tlevels@highfield.co.uk
