Two additional ‘Introducing Highfield’ sessions for Taunton/Belfast

introducing HighfieldWe’ve added two additional briefings to our series of ‘Introducing Highfield‘ events this spring.

Due to popular demand, we’ll now be holding a briefing on the afternoon of 13 April 2017 in Taunton, and on the afternoon of 25 April 2017 in Belfast. Morning sessions are now fully booked.

From this April, the CIEH will no longer be offering regulated qualifications and will be withdrawing its status as an awarding organisation. As a result, Highfield has been holding briefings for those centres that want to continue delivering regulated qualifications and are exploring ways of doing this.

Each briefing lasts two hours and will provide further information on the benefits of being an approved Highfield centre, our policies and values, as well as guidance on our registration process.

What you can expect on the day:

  • details on how to switch from CIEH to Highfield, plus our support during that process and afterwards
  • overview of the qualifications we offer, and are planning to offer
  • information on our FREE centre registration for CIEH customers
  • guidance on moving qualifications over to the Register of Qualifications Framework (RQF)
  • examples of associated training materials from Highfield International
  • the opportunity to network with training providers

And of course, you’ll get the chance to meet the Highfield team and some of our subject matter experts face-to-face, ask questions and give us your views on what you want to see from a responsive awarding organisation in terms of service, qualifications and products.

CIEH – voluntary surrender of recognition

CIEHAs many of you will be aware, the CIEH has announced it intends to surrender its status as a regulated awarding organisation and is withdrawing its regulated and non-regulated qualification provision. We recognise this is a deeply worrying time for existing CIEH centres, many of whom will have already allocated budgets and purchased resources for programmes of learning and assessment.

Highfield has been operating in the compliance market for over 30 years and has been one of the UK’s leading providers of food safety, health and safety, first aid and numerous other vocationally related qualifications since our awarding arm was established. Highfield is passionate about supporting businesses and continuously raising standards, and currently provides qualifications and learning resources to over 2 million learners per year. Our Chairman Richard actually developed most of the original CIEH food safety courses and is recognised as being one of the world’s leading industry experts.

Highfield is already providing assistance to numerous organisations affected by the announcement and will be offering free registration (usually £400) to all UK-based CIEH centres until 31 December 2016. We will ensure that, given the opportunity to work with you, the transition over to Highfield will be seamless. Also you will have the added benefit that Highfield offers all of the main qualifications (and many more) that were offered by the CIEH. This means you will only need to register with one awarding organisation if you offer a full suite of food safety, HACCP or health and safety qualifications. Our range of compliance qualifications can be viewed here.

Highfield has a very experienced team who can help at any time with any questions you have, however, we also offer a free-to-subscribe food safety LinkedIn group, which has around 1,000 members. If you would like to discuss food safety-related issues with fellow trainers, you may wish to consider joining this group. You can join here

As the UK’s leading provider of compliance qualifications, we are proud to work with a wide range of small and large training providers, colleges, local authorities and corporate clients. Our brand is well known and respected throughout the UK and internationally.
