Highfield is hosting events in Bristol and Durham this autumn to explain more about our online learning and e-assessment offer.
These free-to-attend workshops are aimed at busy centre managers looking to improve their training offer and reduce costs through digital learning and assessment.
The events – on 13 September 2018 at the Doubletree by Hilton, Bristol, and 2 October 2018 at Radisson Blu, Durham – will give delegates the opportunity to trial a selection of our e-learning courses as we demonstrate the wide arrange of subjects we have to offer.
We’ll also show you, step-by-step, how to navigate the Highfield Learner Management System (LMS), and show you how it gives you more control and flexibility when it comes to managing the courses you offer.
Plus, you’ll receive a demonstration on how Highfield Works, our very own e-assessment system, helps save you time and money, all while providing you with the flexibility need to manage assessments, resits and certifications at the click of a button.
And don’t worry if you’re not the most tech-savvy person on the planet, our digital products are designed to be simple to use and easy to learn, so with our help you’ll be an expert in no time.
Morning and afternoon sessions at both events are available, so book your free place today at the links below:

First aid qualifications are changing – with new requirements for tutors, assessors and IQA from later in the year.
The changes, which come into effect from 1 October 2015, will see a number of updates implemented designed to improve the rigour of first aid training qualifications and safeguard learners.
Details of the changes include requirements that:
- Tutors hold regulated teaching or training qualifications
- Assessors have a formal (regulated) assessing qualification
- IQAs will need to achieve a formal (regulated) IQA qualification
Where assessors and IQAs do not hold the required qualifications, they will need to undertake first-aid assessor/IQA CPD training with an Awarding Organisation.
Further details of the tutor/assessor and IQA qualifications can be found within the qualification specification for any of the HABC first aid at work qualifications or within the Skills for Health assessment principle document.
HABC account managers are currently reviewing all tutor certificates held on the HABC system. Tutors/assessors that do not fulfil the requirements by 1 October 2015 will not be able to be selected by Centres when posting a course.
For more information, contact your HABC account manager.
HABC is holding a CPD event covering internal quality assurance and assessment of its suite of regulated first aid qualifications.
Held at Academy House, Doncaster on 17 December 2014, the event will allow delegates to achieve a CPD certificate for first aid assessment and IQA, whilst receiving a complete overview of HABC’s first aid qualifications and the support materials available.
The event follows the guidance issued by Skills For Health in regards to formal first aid CPD training (as opposed to previous first aid orientation sessions), and whilst not mandatory, will be of use to anyone looking for the latest guidance on assessing and internally quality assuring first aid qualifications.
Cost per delegate is £50 plus VAT for HABC Approved Centres and £65 plus VAT for non-Centres.
